He was a self employed master carpenter and a former actor on the soap opera-Where the Heart is.
Douglas was civil rights activist, a photographer, writer and love hiking in the outdoors.
Douglas in survived by his children; Alisha A. Stevens of Rotterdam, Nathaniel D. Ross of Philadelphia and Matthew R. Ross and his wife Veronica Beswick of Rotterdam, his grandchildren; Lorelai Beswick-Ross, Giuliana Beswick-Ross, Xander Beswick-Ross and Charlotte Stevens.
