Joe Charles Wynn was born on Tuesday, June 18th, 1940 in Hulbert, OK, the son of Theodore Roosevelt and Josie Elenora (Davis) Wynn. Joe graduated from Porter High School and then decided to become a farmer. He financed his farming by being a meat cutter for over 40 years, cutting meat for Safeway, IGA, and Harp’s Grocery Store. He married his best friend, Barbara Mayfield in 1963, together they would spent the next 56 years working side by side, sharing their hopes and dreams and raising their children, Micky, Marty, Monica, Ricco, Bernai, Heaven, LeAnn, Darla and Jennifer. Joe lived in Hulbert all of his lifetime. He loved his neighbors and his community, it was home. He felt like all was right with the world as long as he could be on the farm he loved, with the family he adored, watching the cattle grazing in the pastures or driving his tractor. His spare time could be used to do a little fishing, but there was a light in his eye when he picked up his fiddle. In his skilled hands it had a sound all its own, and it was wonderful. The most precious thing to Joe was the love of his wife and children, and spending time with the grandchildren he adored. If there was a sporting event or rodeo, and his grandchildren were a part of it, you could bet that Joe was there, letting them know he was always their biggest fan. A Christian by faith, Joe believed in a loving God that blessed his family and farm on a daily basis. This same loving God called Joe home from his many labors on Saturday, February 9th, 2019 in Tahlequah, OK, surrounded by his family. He was 78 years old. There is not a single friend or family member that will not miss his witty sense of humor and the melodious whistling that was heard daily.

He is preceded in death by his mother, father, sisters Dorothy Short, Lorene Thomas and Bonnie Faye Whitekiller.

He is forever cherished by his loving wife, Barbara of the home and his children, Micky, Marty and wife Sonya all of Hulbert, Monica Wynn of Hulbert, Ricco of El Reno, Bernai of Ft. Gibson, and Heaven of Hulbert. He leaves two daughters of the heart, LeAnn Thomas and Darla LeWallen. He lives on in his grandchildren, JoDel Wynn, Trevor Wynn and wife Angela, Haylee Fleming and husband Michael, Mickayla Wright and husband Tyler, Meg Wynn, Jered Wynn, Cole McNeil, Gracie McNeil, Daylee McNeil, Romeo Smith, Princeton, and great grandchildren, Ty, Jaden, Asher, Gage, Harlin and River, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
