A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 13 at Walter’s Grove Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Simpson. Burial will follow in the Walter’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will see friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times will be at the residence.
Mr. Pierce was born November 19, 1918 in Davidson County to Ernest L Pierce and Lillie Jackson Pierce. He was a retired employee of North State Telephone Company and a member of Walter’s Grove Baptist Church. He was married to Doris Mae Hunt Pierce who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters and 5 brothers and by a granddaughter, Brooke Pierce.
He is survived by son, Troy L Pierce and wife Tammie and Thomas Pierce and wife Vickie all of Lexington; daughters, Sylvia P. Stabler and Cindy P Hayes and husband Roy all of Lexington; grandchildren, Chad Pierce, Amber Gordon, Brianna Pierce, Jamie Stabler, Megan Hill, Chris Pierce, Michael Pierce, Jessica Phillips and Ray Hayes, Jr.; 12 great grandchildren.
