Ezra VanDyne, 69, lifelong resident of the Whigville community, passed away at St. Francis hospital, Cambridge on Wednesday morning at 10:45 a.m. He had been a patient in the hospital since last Spring.
Mr. Vandyne attended the Whigville Methodist church.
He leaves two sons; Harold of Ashland and Gilbert of Cambridge; one sister: Mrs. Elizabeth Martin of Summerfield; two brothers: Milton of Summerfield and Wiley of Fredericksdale: two grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. His wife, Mary Rose VanDyne, died in 1940.
Services were held Saturday at 11:00 o'clock a.m. at the Whigville Methodist church, officiated by Rev. Charles Brown of Summerfield. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Meek funeral home was in charge.
