Thelma Jean (Churchill) Fisher, age 88 passed away on February 7, 2019. Thelma was born on May 1, 1930 to Johnnie Marion Moss and Chester Edward Churchill in Fort Worth, Texas.

Thelma graduated from Bellville High School in 1948. She wed Kenneth Fisher on April 11, 1953 and they were married for 50 years. Early on in her career she worked as a secretary at Baker Botts attorneys at law. After a number of years as a housewife, she began her career as an organ and piano teacher for 25 years. She later served as President of the National Organ and Piano Teachers Association. Thelma also served on the Alter Guild at Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

In addition to music, she liked to sew and cook.

Thelma is survived by; son Craig Fisher and wife Sarah Fisher of Houston, TX; son Paul Fisher and wife Carmen of Houston, TX; son Derek Fisher of Austin, TX; grandson Zachary Fisher of Seward, NE; grandson John Fisher of Houston, TX; grandson Clint Fisher of Houston, TX; grandson Chad Fisher of Houston, TX; granddaughter Elizabeth Fisher of Austin, TX; and grandson Luke Fisher of Austin, TX.

Thelma also leaves behind seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Fisher, and her parents Johnnie Marion Moss and Chester Edward Churchill.

A brief memorial serice for Thelma will be held Monday, February 11, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, Texas 77079. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, TX.
