Sidney Davis Baxter, age 88, of Rocky Face, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, February 8, 2019.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Eloise Knight Baxter; his parents, Sidney and Esther Wood Baxter; daughter, Gail Bonifacious; son-in-law, SGM Larry Kirkland; brother and sister-in-law, James (Sally) and Evelyn Baxter; brothers-in-law, Ivan Masters and Cecil Knight.

He was oldest living member of Rocky Face Baptist Church. He was the longest serving magistrate in the state of Georgia.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Angie Baxter of Villanow; his daughter, Gloria Baxter Kirkland of Rocky Face; sister, Doris Masters of Rocky Face; grandchildren, Hannah Michelle Isenhower, Warren and Trish Isenhower, Robby Chappell, Shelley Chappell Voyles and Shane Bonifacious; great grandchildren, Asa, Kason, and Josiah Isenhower and Gage Voyles. Cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Pleasant Valley Retirement Home and special caregiver, Connie Jones.

The funeral service to honor the life of Sidney Baxter will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rocky Face Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Brinkley, Bro. David Pangle and Rev. Reagan Marsh officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
