US Congressman. From 1959 to 1963, he served on the advisory commission, United States Department of Agriculture. He was a member of the California state assembly, 1963 to 1971 and a delegate at the Republican National Convention in 1972. In 1971, he was elected as a Republican to the Ninety-second and to the Ninety-third Congresses serving until 1975. Not a candidate for reelection, he was appointed the first Assistant Secretary of Civil Works for the United States Army serving, 1975 to 1977. His last public office was as secretary for industrial relations, State of California in 1983.
