Lynda Sue Scott, 74, of Chandler, Oklahoma was born June 23, 1943 in Seminole, Oklahoma and died on November 2, 2017 in Oklahoma City, surrounded by her loving family. Lynda was known as “Mema” to most people that knew her, because she loved and cared for everyone as if they were her own. She was nothing less than amazing. She would always look out for the best interests of others, even if it meant putting her wants and needs aside. Though her family describes her as a private person, she always put her family first and made sure they were taken care of. Mema will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Lynda was the daughter of Bill and Evelyn (Bryant) Drewery. She grew up and went to school in Seminole, and married Eldon “Scotty” Scott, Sr. November 12, 1966. Together, they were blessed with eight children. When they could, Lynda and Scotty enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Mexico. Lynda was retired, but had worked several years as an office manager at in insurance company in Chandler. Lynda loved being a mom and Mema to lots of kids, not just her own. She loved Angels, Blake Shelton, Elvis Presley, and listening to old country and Christian music. She spent the last four years being the care giver to her late husband and best friend. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Eldon Scott, Sr., who passed away on August 11, 2017; her parents; sister, Ella Ruth Bellows; brother, Gerald Drewery; as well as three children, Vance, Liz and Dee. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Eldon, Jr. and Terrie Scott, Donald and Carol Dilday, Jeffrey and Lisa Scott; two daughters, Barbara Kelley and Jackie Bohon and husband Lance; her 63 loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren and counting; sisters, Barbara and husband Gale Braden, and Wanda and husband Dean Jenkins; as well as many other family and friends. Memorial services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 8 November, Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service, Midwest City, Oklahoma, with Pastor Kaycee Funk officiating. Burial followed at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Park Cemetery.
