PINE PLAINS - John M. Welch, 70, an eight-year resident, died Tuesday, June 14, 1988, at his Woodside Street home, after a long illness.

Formerly of Poughkeepsie, Mr. Welch had been a computer analyst with IBM, retiring in 1983.

He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club and the Faith Assembly of God Church, Poughkeepsie.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was born June 9, 1918, in Hyde Park, to Eugene F. and Mary E. Duntz Welch.

His wife, Lillian Matthews Welch, survives.

Other survivors include four daughters, Cindy Kyriazis, Dianne Funk, Janet Traver, and Joan Delamater; three brothers, Frank Welch, George Welch, and Robert Welch; a sister, Florence Morrill; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Calling hours are from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, Main Street, Pine Plains.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ellis Damiani officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains.
