Jesse Aaron Burton, 34. Jesse passed away at home with his family on the morning of November 13th. Jesse grew up exploring the Okmulgee Wildlife Management Area and graduated from Morris Public schools. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK, with both a BS in Environmental Science and a MS in Natural Resources Ecology and Management. He worked for the National Park Service as a Fire Ecologist based out of Tupelo, Mississippi, then returned to Oklahoma to work as a Wildlife Biologist for the United States Fish & Wildlife Service at Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge in Vian, OK. His family resides in Sallisaw.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Jessica, and daughters Alyssa and Catharine, his sister, Amber Burton, of Falls Church, VA, his parents, Louise and Bruce Burton, of Okmulgee, OK, and his grandparents, Shirley and Howard Burton, of Marion, Virginia.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 17th at the First United Methodist Church in Okmulgee, with a reception following in the fellowship hall.
