Obituary for Jerry Riley
Jerry L. Riley, age 77, of Godfrey passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Alton Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born July 1, 1941, in Fisk, MO, the son of Cecil and Florene (Hollis) Riley. He married Phyllis Musgrove on December 23, 1967 in Alton, and she survives.
Jerry worked in maintenance at Dierberg’s after retiring he enjoyed working in the yard and spending time with his faithful dog Mia.
In addition to his wife, Phyllis; he is survived by two children and their spouses, Debra and Philip Kannel of Dorsey, Melissa and Joe Fox of Jerseyville, a grandson Nathan Young and three sisters, Maxine Sherman of Alton, Cathy Diamond of Fisk, MO, and Jane Bresse of Arizona.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 10, 2019, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 11, 2019, at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will take place in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverbend Humane Society or to Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children.
