He was born in Trap Fork, WV on October 29, 1948 a son of the late Leonard Ray Bailey and Anna Mae Bailey. On March 19, 2005 he married Barbara Joan Fisher Bailey who survives him.
Forever carrying their memories of Leonard with them are his wife; two children, Leonard Edward Bailey Jr. and companion, Brianna Cain and Jennifer Lynn Bailey and, companion Willie Nicholson; four grandchildren, Robin, Hannah, Faith and Riley; two step children, Sherry McCarty and husband, John and Jessica Queen and companion, Dillon; six step grandchildren, that he loved as his own, Madison, Bo, TJ, Zachary, Joshua, and Gracie; five siblings, Glenna Shaffer, Madge Fox, Bonnie Bailey, Cathy Cunninghan and Geneva Manning and several nieces and nephews including, Tommy Bailey, Cindy Singleton, Larry Bailey, Danny Bailey and Buck Smith.
In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by one step son, Timothy Eckes and six siblings, Henry, Bessie, Leola Bernard, Irene, and Jessie.
Leonard loved all aspects of farming. He always had a garden and although the children were not fond of digging them, they sure enjoyed those fresh mashed potatoes at dinnertime.
Leonard’s request for cremation with no services has been honored.
