John David Lewis, age 90, of Mt. Zion Road, East Bernstadt, formerly of DeLand, FL, passed away Tuesday at Baptist Health in Corbin. He was the father of Beverly Godsey and husband Floyd of North Judson, Indiana, Diane Settle and husband David and Mollie Chillemi and husband Nick of DeLand, Florida,Linda Day and husband Jim of Corbin, Sherry Crawford and husband Carl David of Manchester, Gloria Bruno and husband Tim of Lake Helen, Florida, Deborah Hurtado of DeBary, Florida,Tina Fender of East Bernstadt, Michael Lewis and wife Yvette of DeLand, Florida and Leonard Lewis of DeLeon Springs, Florida. He was the brother of Henry Joe Lewis of Aztec, New Mexico. He is also survived by a host of grand, great and great-great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Henry and Maggie Elam Lewis he was also preceded in death by two children, Terry Lewis and Sandra Denise Hensley and a grandchild, Justin Lewis.

He was owner and operator of Lewis Truck and Wrecker Service. He was a road race car driver in Daytona Beach, FL in the mid to late sixties winning several races. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Burial in the Walter McDaniel Cemetery in East Bernstadt.
