She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex L. Carroll, Sr. and Martha Carroll Ball; her Husband, Isom Shaw; sisters, Verta Lee (Andy) Lewis, Zella Wayne (Chuck) Renyer, Vivian Butler, Evelyn (Don) Bowen; and brothers, James L. (Sue) Carroll, Grant (Mildred) Carroll, H.P. Carroll, and Alex L. Carroll, Jr.
Verda is survived by her children, L. J. (Pat) Shaw, Doris (Darrell) Northrup, Archie (Katrina) Shaw, Judy (Bobby) Brown; sister-in-law, Shirley Carroll; brother-in-law, Eber Butler; fourteen grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; and thirteen great-great grandchildren.
She was retired from TD Drugs in Orange Grove. Sewing, crocheting, and singing old hymns were a few of the things she enjoyed, but making crafts to give to others is where she got her true joy. Verda belonged to First Baptist Church of Lyman.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 9:00am until the service at 10:00am, both at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. Burial will follow in Shaw Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Windham House of Hattiesburg and First Baptist Church of Lyman for all of the visits, prayer chain letters and care of their mother during this time.
