  Police Officer, 28, Loses Fight to Survive Crash
  A six-week fight for life by a Salt Lake City police officer ended in death Sunday due to injuries suffered in an automobile-motorcycle accident Feb. 14.
  Kurt Ejvind Larsen, 28, 409-6th Ave., died Sunday at 9 a.m. in a Salt Lake hospital.
  He was injured while working for Intermountain Escort Service escorting a funeral cortege.
  The accident occurred Feb. 14 at 4:13 p.m. at 10th East and 4th South as Mr. Larsen was attempting to stop traffic for a funeral procession.
  His motorcycle and an automobile collided in the intersection.
  The off-duty officer was thrown over the hood of the car and hit the pavement some 40 feet from the point of impact, reports showed.
  He suffered a broken arm, internal and head injuries.
  Mr. Larsen had resigned from the police department and was on terminal leave at the time of the accident. He had planned to leave for California the next day to work for a police department.
