Memorial services for Charlene Rossum Reeves of Kilgore, Texas, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2019 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Battles officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services.

Charlene was born in Kilgore, Rusk County, Texas on Thursday, September 4, 1941 to the parentage of Luther and Bell Timms Rossum. She departed this life on Monday, January 28, 2019 at her residence in Kilgore.

Early in life she united with and was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church where she was a choir member, taught Sunday school and was a part of the Missionary Society.
In her youth, she attended elementary school at New Hope public schools. During her high school years she was a member of the basketball team and graduated from Fredonia High School in the Class of 1959.

For many years she worked as a home health care worker. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, quilting and doing various crafts.

In 1961, she united in marriage with the late; Elvis Reeves and two children were born to this union.

Charlene will be remembered by all and greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, Earlene Rossum Reese, and three brothers, Willie Rossum, Arnold Rossum and John Rossum, Sr.

Charlene leaves her memory to be cherished by her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Willie Williams of Kilgore, TX and her son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Diane Reeves of Dallas, TX; four brothers, Burnett Rossum and his wife, Ora May of Kilgore, TX; Shelby Rossum of Dallas, TX; Mack Rossum of Kilgore, TX; and Joe Rossum of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Ginger Orange of Kilgore, TX; Synammon Ferguson of Tyler, TX; Roland Reeves and Ryan Reeves both of Dallas, TX; three great-grandchildren, Sage Orange, Dillon Orange and Mason Colbert all of Kilgore, TX; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

There will be no public viewing or wake.
