Thompson Mitchell
The death of Thompson Mitchell occurred Sunday morning at the Mary McClellan hospital in Cambridge after a short illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Ryan funeral home by Rev. Charles R. Edgington, pastor of the Methodist church. Interment was in Greenwich cemetery.
Mr. Mitchell was born in 1874 in Salem, the son of Benjamin and Mathilda Mitchell. For many years he was a farmer and for the past 20 years he had been associated with the Stevens and Thompson Paper company here, and was employed there until a short time before his death. He was a member of the local 12956, UMW, of the mill.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Hiram Brownell of this village, with whom he had made his home recently; by a son, Allen Mitchell of Greenwich; a brother, Wilson Mitchell of Salem; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
