OBITUARY -

Sybil Francis Killough. 84. of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. and the memorial funeral service and Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 11 at Wade Funeral Home, 201 NW 3rd Street in Hubbard, Texas. Interment will be at Dover Cemetery in Navarro County just off of Highway 171 between Hubbard and Coolidge, turn east on HCR 3379. The cemetery is approximately 2 miles down this road on SW 4080 Road.

Sybil was born on January 21, 1935 in Tupelo, Texas to Carrie and Dave McMullan. She attended school in and graduated from Corsicana High School.

In November 1957, she married Carrol Killough in Corsicana, Texas. They moved to France where Carrol served as an officer in the Air Force and they had a daughter. They then moved to Duluth, Minnesota where Carrol completed his active military service and they had a son.

Sybil spent most of her life living in Washington, Illinois raising a family, and participating in the arts community. She was a professional artist and sold her paintings at tine arts shows in the Midwest for many years. She was a breast cancer and open-heart survivor.

Sybil was also an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Washington, Illinois for over 50 years.

For most of her life Sybil was frequently found with a paint brush or camera in hand. She shared her passion for art, music, animals, shopping and photography with future generations. She shared her appreciation of family, faith and integrity with her children and dear friends.

In November 2014, Sybil and Carrol survived the F4 tornado which wiped out 1,400 homes in Washington, Illinois including their home of 52 years. They moved to Lake in the Hills, Illinois to be near their son's family at that time. In 2015, their new home, just one mile away from the home they lost in Washington, was completed and they resided there until the spring of 2016. They moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to be near their daughter. In December 2018 Sybil moved to Tulsa to be near her daughter and granddaughter's family.

Sybil was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers A.D. and Tom, and sisters Kitty Norwood, Marguerite Gorman and Liz Smith, and her husband Carrol Killough.

She is survived by daughter Terry Killough LaFin and her husband, Bob of Bixby, Oklahoma, and son Larry Killough and his wife, Karen of Lake in the Hills, Illinois.

Her five grandchildren include: Rachel LaFin Howard living with husband, Mike in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lauren Killough of Chicago, Illinois, and Hayley, Nathan and Sophia Killough of Lake in the Hills, Illinois. Sybil also has four great grandchildren, Britten Howard Coleman and husband, Jack in California as well as Barrett, Mackenzie and Cole Howard in Oklahoma.
