Mrs. Ellis was born July 3, 1910, in Glencoe, Okla. Her maiden name was Hatfield. She attended Oklahoma City College. She worked for the Veterans Administration in Wadsworth, Kan., and later for the U.S. Postal Service in Yakima. She lived in Vancouver for 28 years. She married William "Bill" in 1951.
Survivors include her husband; daughter, Gwena L. Maloday of Kennewick, Wash.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Vancouver. The family suggests remembrances to a favorite charity. Oregonian, Sunday, July 11, 1999
