James Vincent Ott, age 79 of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019. Born in Columbia on June 25, 1939, he was the son of the late George and Loretta (Vera) Ott. He was the loving husband of 30 years of Jeanette (Dellinger) Ott.

James was employed for 30 years and retired from Howmet/Alumax/Alcoa Company, Lancaster. He was a longtime member of the Foresters of America in Columbia. He enjoyed traveling the US and Canada with his wife, and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Penn State football, and Phillies baseball. He also enjoyed family reunions and get-togethers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister Georgia Gordon of Manheim, 12 nieces and nephews, and his step-children Stephen Ruby, and his wife Cindy of Columbia, Joann (Ruby) Manuel, and her husband Charles of Columbia, and Sharon Keller of York. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Donald Vera, Robert Ott, George "Duck" Ott, and Franklin Ott, and his beloved infant daughter Jamie Ott.
