Carol Eve Stone, of Oklahoma City, passed away on February 6, 2019. Carol was born December 24, 1941 in Tulsa, Oklahoma as the only child of Homer and Eva Fulbright. Carol was a 1959 graduate from Northwest Classen High School and attended Central State University and Oklahoma State University where she was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. In 1963, Carol was married to John Nichols Stone and they enjoyed 56 loving years together with four children, ten grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Carol was a traditional homemaker who loved caring for her family. She was a dedicated mother and was very active in her children’s lives. She and John never missed any of the kid’s activities and this passion carried over to their grandchildren and they participated in their lives as much as possible. After her oldest children started college, Carol spent fifteen years with Mardel Christian Books, where she was an Office Manager at Store #1. After retiring from Mardel, Carol spent the remainder of her working career traveling and selling with her husband, John, at M.G. Novelty. Carol loved to travel, and family trips were a big part of her life. Among her favorite activities were birdwatching and viewing wildflowers in the mountains and searching for seashells on the beach. She also had opportunities to travel for business and she often talked fondly of trips overseas. No matter where she traveled, she enjoyed exploring the history of the places she visited. Carol was an excellent cook, who provided both standard dishes and challenging, new recipes for her family. She also took pleasure in sewing, reading, genealogy, photography, and solving puzzles. Carol was adored by all and everyone who came to her home felt loved and welcomed. Carol is preceded in death by her husband, John Nichols Stone; her parents, Homer Fulbright and Eva Alspaugh-Fulbright; and her great granddaughter Carson Ely. She is survived by her children, David Stone and wife ZaZelle Stone, Stephen Stone and wife Kathrine Hillin, Joanna Benally and Shawna Lee and husband Jason Lee; grandchildren, Joseph Stone, Patrick Stone, Eva Stone, JC Ely, Cale Ely, Bryce Benally, Shawnee Benally, Matthew Lee, Joshua Lee and Madison Lee; and numerous cousins and friends.
