Gerald, whose professional name was Jerry Holmes, was a singer, musician and actor. After his parents divorced, he lived with his aunt, Mrs. Jessie (McConaha) Stalnaker and graduated from Parkersburg High School. He attended Ohio University and studied speech and elocution. He became a regular on a local TV show in Cleveland, Ohio and played with the Ralph Flanagan Orchestra as well as the Blue Baron Band. He recorded an album. Jerry Holmes Sings. He was drafted into the U.S. Army about 1954 and won a place in the World Wide Army Talent Contest. He died in New York City, NY.
