He was a lifelong auto mechanic, and worked at Trane, JI Case, and General Electric, retiring in 2000.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, and everything outdoors as well as spending time at auctions and casinos. He liked to design and build projects and fix everything from cars to home repairs. Brownie loved spending time with friends, family, and his pets. He also enjoyed traveling, particularly wintering in Texas.
Survivors include his wife Catherine L. Brown of Burlington; two sons Rusty Brown of Iowa City and Doug Brown of West Burlington; three daughters, Teri Brown of Naperville, IL, Toni Wilkinson of Hampton IA, and Robin Jackson of Lincoln NE; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and one brother Tim Brown of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two nephews and one niece.
