Jimmy Hill was born on October 8, 1951 in McAlester to Thirkel and Margaret (Brown) Hill. He has lived in McAlester and Hartshorne all his life and was married to Emma (Jones) Hill. Jimmy served in the U.S. Army from Dec. 2, 1969 to February 26, 1973, when he received his honorable discharge. Jimmy was well known as a do-it-all handyman in the Hartshorne area for many years. He was a member of the Hartshorne VFW and American Legion and belonged to West Bethel Baptist Church.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Emma, of Clinton; 4 sons, Earl Hill of Charleston, S.C., Denmaun Hill of Tecumseh, Ok., Juan Hill of Oklahoma City; Cody Hornback of Maryland; daughters, Nika Hill of Oklahoma City and Kala Hill of Oklahoma City. Also, sisters and brothers, Margaret Wedlow of Ada, Fran “Frenchie” Quarels of California, Pazzie “Pat” Hill of Arizona, Charels Hill of New Mexico and Thirkel Hill of California.
