Lorraine Taylor of Williamsburg, Virginia | 1933 - 2019 | Obituary

Lorraine Taylor was called to Glory on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. She was born on August 16, 1933, daughter of the late Thomas A. Allen and Florence Wilkerson.

Lorraine graduated from the York County Training School. She retired from Fort Eustis after many years of service. She was loved by her friends and fellow co-workers.

At an early age, Lorraine accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She was very active in the church, serving on the Pastors Aide Committee, Hospitality Aide for Pastor, Sunday School teacher for the youth and worked with the daycare. She absolutely loved children. She sang with the Missionary Choir and was a member of the Missionary Board at Rising Sun Baptist Church, Lackey Virginia. Later in life, Lorraine attended Oak Grove Baptist Church, Wakefield, Virginia, where she was a member of the Pastor’s Aide Committee. She truly enjoyed life going to church, riding out in the community, and visiting the sick and shut in.

Lorraine leaves her fond memories with her husband of thirty-eight years Roosevelt M. Taylor; children, Robin and Sharon Bliey and Andre Florence; stepson, Rico Taylor; brother, Crawford Allen; a host of grandchildren, nieces and, nephews.

A service of remembrance will be held 11: at00 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2019, in Whiting's Chapel. Mrs. Taylor may be viewed on Friday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of her service.
