Caleb John Cooper
Saginaw, MI

Dearest Caleb left us much too soon on February 3, 2019. He was born on July 28, 1999 in Saginaw. Caleb was a very bright goal-oriented individual. Caleb rated his academics as high priorities, and never had to be reminded to do his homework, or to study for tests or exams. This was demonstrated through his carrying a 4.0 GPA all through high school, while participating in wrestling and cross country. He also received a black belt in Tai Kwon Do. Caleb earned many academic awards through the years of high school including: National Honor Society, Student Business Association, Outstanding Student, and he volunteered at McBrite Manor working with senior citizens. Caleb’s university scholarships included; Detroit News Outstanding Senior Award (Special Distinction), Ronald R. Schrems Senior Award, Michigan Competitive Scholarship, Team One Credit Union Scholarship. Caleb was well liked by all, and made very positive impressions on teachers and faculty members. Caleb always made himself available to friends and others who needed to talk, and was very supportive to them. Caleb’s academic success continued while at MSU with him obtaining a 4.0 GPA, toward his Major in Psychology with his goal to be a Psychologist. Caleb would have made a great psychologist and would have helped many individuals.

Caleb was a member of Swan Valley United Methodist Church and was an active member of the youth group both Middle School and High School. He formed many strong bonds which continued throughout his life. Pastor Rob Richards was a tremendous role model and positive influence on Caleb.

Caleb leaves behind his very proud and loving mother Jill A. Cooper, his Uncle Ron (Jennifer) Cooper, cousins Rachel, Rebecca, and Seth whom he deeply loved and maintained regular contact with through video chat and snap chat. Caleb also leaves behind a special friend in Emma Brundrett and their cat Albert. Caleb had an Aunt and Uncle who pre-deceased him Tammy (Gary) Maturen He also leaves behind cousins Stacy (Andy) Sharrow, Aaron (Erin) Maturen, Jena Maturen, and Tyler Maturen. Second cousins Alexa, and Hailey Sharrow. He also leaves behind a special Aunt & Uncle, Ron and Linda Halm. (Devin Halm, Darin (Jeanne) Halm and Brittany Halm).
