HYNDMAN, Pa. — Albert F. Hast, 79, of Hyndman went to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, at his home.
Born Dec. 24, 1939, in Cumberland; he was a son of the late John L. and Alice (Twigg) Hast Bittner.
Survived by his wife of 55 years, Ella Jean "Jeanie" (Dwire) Hast, whom he married July 4, 1963; son, John Hast and wife, Kim of Hyndman; daughter, Amy Jo Hast Peer of Washington; grandchildren, Cole Hast, Kira Watson, Alby Watson, John Watson and wife, Sierra and Trevor Watson.
Al was a graduate of Fort Hill and served in the US Navy. He retired form CSX Railroad in 1999 after 40 years. He was a member of the Cumberland Masonic Lodge 100. He was a Ham Operator call sign W3KDC and life member of the Radio Club. He enjoyed Westerns and his faithful dog Zoey.
Friends will be received at the Grace United Methodist Church 222 Schellsburg St., Hyndman on Friday Feb. 8, 2019, from 10 to 11 a.m. where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Fred Zickefoose officiating.
Burial will be private at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made Grace United Methodist Church, 222 Schellsburg Street, Hyndman, PA 15545 or Shriners Hospitals for Children; Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
