Cheryl Marie Nelson, 51, of Cedar, died Sunday, December 23rd in her home. Her memorial service will be at 3:00 pm, Thursday, January 3rd at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Clover Leaf Cemetery in Willmar. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
Cheryl Marie Nelson was born on September 4, 1967 in Meadville, PA. Her parents were Richard and Gloria (Johnson) Nelson. She attended elementary school and high school in Raymond, and graduated in 1986. She went on to college at St. Paul Bible College (now Crown College). She moved to Florida in 1988 where she spent 19 years. While there she worked in the mortgage and title industry.
After struggling with her diabetes and other health issues, she moved back to Minnesota in 2007.
In her healthy years, Cheryl enjoyed sports – both watching and playing, reading and hanging out with friends. She also especially loved her dogs Snowman and Chloe and was an avid Vikings fan!
Cheryl is survived by her mother, Gloria; her brother, Brian (Sharin) Nelson, and sister, Lynnette (Jim) Hubert; nieces: Taya, Tiffany and Tori Nelson; nephews: Matthew and David Hubert, grand nephews: Brayden and Bryson Coffey; and special friend Johnny Skalsky.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Richard Nelson and all her grandparents.
