On Sunday, February 3,2019, Gerry Wayne Wilson went to the land of our Savior to watch over us. He was born on October 3, 1956 to Walter and Martha J. Wilson in Nashville, Tennessee.
He attended the Public Schools of Nashville-Davidson County, graduating from Hillwood High School in 1975. He furthered his education by attending and graduating from Tennessee State University in 1980. He received Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science.
Gerry professed a Hope in Christ at an early age and joined Jefferson Street Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend James "Tex" Thomas.
On June 28, 1986, Gerry united in holy matrimony to Theresa Ann Allen.
Gerry was employed for many years with RC Bottling Company. He later became employed with Nissan Motor Company USA until his health failed.
Gerry was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Joe Wilson; father, Walter Wilson Sr.; brother, Walter Wilson Jr.; and sisters, Alberta Waller and Virginia Mitchell.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and loving wife, Theresa A Wilson; godchildren, Andree and Portia Dowell; devoted mother-in-law, Rosa Lee Wade; father-in-law, Sam Batts; brothers, Bryon Wilson, William (Odetta) Wilson and David (Susan) Wilson; sister, Sherry Wilson; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Batts, Michelle (James)Holt and Rhoda D. Dowell; grandchildren, Quashon, Christopher and Jamario Bass, Aajaylah, Romel and Messiah Dowell; devoted friends, Marla Valentine, Rena Clemons and Family; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
