William Samuel Talley, the son of John William and Annie Mae (Murphy) Talley, was born on February 6, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

William, also known to family and friends as 'Bill' or 'Billy,' married Theda Kyser on August 23, 1969. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Karma Lanéa and Leah Nicole.

William was educated in the Indianapolis Public School System, and graduated from Shortridge High School in 1963.

William joined the United States Air Force where he served as an Air Force Policeman from June 1963 thru April 1967. He served in Vietnam, and was later on Reserve Duty. He received an honorable discharge in June 1969.
William worked at the Allison Gas Turbine Division of General Motors Corporation for 25 years, and Rolls Royce (formerly Allison GM) for 13 years. He retired in August 2005.

William was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in January 1977 and shared the Bible's hope for the future with others. Throughout the years he attended several congregations and he loved taking his family to the Assemblies and Conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses, and meeting new friends at the Kingdom Halls abroad and spending time with them and their families.

William dearly loved his family and children. He enjoyed traveling, and vacationing to various destinations, and spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He loved to go on picnics and to family gatherings. He loved animals and had several cherished pets, and donated to charitable organizations dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals. He enjoyed playing sports and coaching. He played basketball in high school and on the team of his Air Force Unit, and was known for the 'long shots,' the 3 pointers.

William was caring, generous and funny. His warm, boyish smile and big heart will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

William fell asleep in death on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the age of seventy-three.

He is preceded by his parents, and eldest brother George Wilbur (Alma).
