Gail A. Parry, 68, formerly of Utica, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Utica, NY on April 9, 1950, she was the daughter of Erwin J. and Arlene M. (Urtz) Parry. She was educated in Utica and graduated from Utica Free Academy in 1968. Gail lived most of her life in Utica and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church. She worked at Lerner’s Department Store in downtown Utica for many years until transitioning to the medical field where she worked at St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital as a pediatric nurse’s aide, and then later in medical records at Lewis County General Hospital. She later retired and moved in with her daughter’s family.

Gail enjoyed spending her time scrapbooking and shopping. She was an avid reader and loved listening to music, especially Queen of which she was a diehard fan. However, nothing brought her more happiness than her family. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend and was affectionately known as “Lucy”.

She is survived by her daughter Amy Wagner, and husband Kevin Wagner of Merrimack, NH and one granddaughter, Emily Wagner. She also leaves two sisters Suzanne Pauli, and husband David of Mesa, AZ and Martha Burt and husband Greg of Chesapeake, VA. One brother in law, Richard LaBuz of Greig, NY and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Gail is predeceased by her parents, her sister Ellen LaBuz and two infant brothers.

Her calling hours will be Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 6-8PM at Sundquist Funeral Home in Lowville, NY. A funeral mass will be 11AM on February 1, 2019 at St. Peters Church in Lowville with Rev. Jay Seymour, Pastor officiating. Spring burial will be in Brantingham Cemetery.

Flowers are welcome, however, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Mercury Phoenix Trust in her name which was charity near and dear to her heart.
