Shirley R. Williams passed to eternal life with her family at her bedside on April 24, 2022, at
Norton Brownsboro Hospital at the golden age of 92. Shirley was a Louisville native and was born on
October 5, 1929, to her parents Ida (Dutlinger) and William Redmon Sr. Shirley was the youngest of 5
Redmon children: William Jr. "Billy", Robert "Bobby", Mary Jane, Raymond "Ray", and then their baby
sister Shirley.

Shirley grew up in the Highlands neighborhood where she attended St. James Catholic grade school and
later graduated from Loretto High School. At the tender age of 19 she married Fred Williams Sr. May 21,
1949, at St. Agnes Church in Louisville. Shirley and Fred lived in the Highlands area until 1953 when they
relocated to Okolona. There they raised 3 of their 4 sons Fred Jr., Larry, and Chris. The youngest son,
Doug was born and raised following their move to Lyndon in 1963. Shirley has been a member of St.
Albert the Great Church since that time.

Shirley's life was a very full one with her focus always being her family. She had many nephews, nieces,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved her dearly. Her days with Fred Sr. were filled with the
busy and oftentimes chaotic household of 4 rowdy sons "the 4 horsemen." There were many family
vacations and gatherings of extended family as well. After her children were grown, she worked for
several years at Jefferson Manor. She also did volunteer work at Right to Life of Louisville and remained
a long-time supporter of that organization. Following the death of Fred Sr. in 1996, Shirley continued to
live in the Lyndon area until she moved to Brownsboro Park Retirement home in 2014 and then on to
Parr's at Springhurst (Willows of Springhurst) in 2018. Shirley made many new friends following these
moves and loved her mealtime conversations with friends and playing bingo in the Activities Room.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Ida and William and her 4 siblings Billy, Bobby, Mary Jane
(Stark), Ray, and her husband Fred Sr.

She is survived by her 4 sons Fred Jr. (Sally), Larry (Katie), Chris (Kim), and Doug (Pam). She was beloved
grandma and "Gigi" to her 14 surviving grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be 11 am Friday, April 29, 2022, at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 1395 Girard Drive, Louisville, Ky. with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation 10 am Friday until time of service.
