Mrs. James J. "Alice" Amacker went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the young age of 76. She spent most of her life in Baton Rouge and moved back to her home town of Albany later in life. Alice was a faithful member of New Beulah Baptist Church where she taught Adult Sunday School classes. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Alice had a sweet spirit and was an absolute joy to be around. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends and making lasting memories with her family. She was the greatest mother in the world and was loved by all who knew her. Alice leaves behind her children, Robert Amacker and wife Elizabeth, Jimmy Amacker and wife Nancy, and Susan Chapman and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Jeremy, Jeffery, Jennifer, Jonathan, Jonah, Jamie, Joyanna, Isabelle, Justina, Joseph, Joshua, Jasper, Jason, and Justin; great-grandchildren, Emery, Anniston, Zeke, Kaycee, Ariel, and Titus; and brother, Jimmy Gilmore and wife Carolyn. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Amacker. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, Hammond, on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Tom Cobb will officiate the service with interment to follow in New Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
