Robert “Bob” Lee Myer, 87, of La Grande, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Grande Ronde Hospital. A Viewing will be held at Loveland Funeral Chapel on Friday January 19, 2018 5:00-8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:00pm. Bob was born November 21, 1930 in Salem, West Virginia, to Arnold C. and Beulah (Brand) Myer. He resided in Salem, West Virginia; Detroit, MI; La Grande, OR; Baker, OR; Walla Walla, WA; Boise, ID and Nampa, ID. Bob attended elementary school at Riveria, Greenwood and Willow schools in La Grande. He attended La Grande Jr. High, and graduated from La Grande High School in 1949. He was married to Dorothy Elaine Struck, Jewel Greene and DeeAnn Smutz. Bob was employed at La Grande Police Department; La Grande Saw Mill; Dick Staab Standard Oil Company; Superior Dairy; Dairy Mart Milk Routes; La Grande Fruit Co.; Vic Coalwell Enterprises; Waldrop Oil Company and L.D.S. Church Custodian. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, singing with the barbershop quartets, playing horseshoes, playing pool, snowmobiling and motorcycling. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church where he was a home teacher, stake missionary and Sunday school teacher, as well as the Lions Club and the Blue Mountain Barbershoppers. Bob is survived by his children; Deborah Cooper (Dennis) of St. George, UT, Philip Myer (Keri) of La Grande, OR, Lisa Swayze of Eugene, OR and Curtis Myer (Jan) of Boise, ID; brothers, Russell Myer of Red Bluff, CA and Jim Myer of Boise, ID; sisters, June of Longview, WA and Barb of Vancouver, WA; 17 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Beulah; brother, Edward Lee; wife, Dorothy “Elaine” Struck, and wife, DeeAnn Smutz.
