Faye Elliott, age 85, of Adrian passed away on Jan. 20, 2019, and went to join her beloved, Lester, 104 days after he left this world to be with the Lord. They are together again, holding hands and singing with Jesus. Faye was born on June 30, 1933, to Dorse Earl and Mary (Townsend) Powell in Roan Mountain, Tenn. On Nov. 16, 1951, she married Lester Jerry Elliott in Shell Creek, Tenn.

Faye excelled in school and graduated in 1950 as the Salutatorian from Cloudland High School. She was also the star and team captain on the girls' basketball team. Faye had the opportunity to go on to college and play basketball but her heart won out, and she married Lester and they celebrated 67 years together before his passing on Oct. 13, 2018. Faye was an excellent homemaker and was always baking for her family or giving baked goods to others.

The family shares many fond memories of the whole family singing together over the years. Faye was known for always helping others, a dedicated member of the Adrian Church of God (ROC) and the best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She treated every one of her grandchildren the same yet made each one feel special.

Survivors include her children, Connie (Michael) Lane, Ted (Peggy) Elliott, Kimberly Elliott/Gunn, all of Adrian; Pamela (Tom) Hagen of Auburn, Mich.; Jerry (Michelle) Elliott of Bay City; 19 grandchildren, Michael Scott, Adam, Sarah, Chantel, Phillip, Charles, Allison, Brent, T.J., Shane, Clayton, Wes, Holly, Ethan, Ellynn, Brooke, Madison, Molly and Anthony; 22 great grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters; siblings, Ronnie Powell of Cleveland, Ohio; Margie Guinn, Elizabethton, Tenn.; and Jeanette Seay of Adrian.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lester; sisters, Florine Elliott of Adrian, Geraldine Landingham of Elizabethton, Tenn.; and a granddaughter in infancy.

Visitation for Faye will be from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, at Wagley Funeral Home and on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, from noon until the time of service at Adrian Church of God (ROC). Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Adrian Church of God (ROC) with the Rev. David King officiating. Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian.
