JoAnn R. Gregory, age 75, of Jordan, entered eternal life on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.
On July 20, 1943, JoAnn was born the daughter of Joseph and Rita (Hennen) Breeggemann. She grew up in the Shakopee area and graduated from Shakopee High School. JoAnn met her husband, Anthony Gregory and they were married on July 10, 1965 at St. Mary's in Shakopee. The couple lived in Jordan until moving to the family farm in 1971. They were blessed with three children, Judy, Ron and Jeff.
After graduating from high school JoAnn began working at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in housekeeping and was soon promoted to X-Ray Technician. She also worked for almost ten years at Valley View Nursing Home as a home health aide. While she enjoyed these positions, her true love was being a dairy farmer. JoAnn enjoyed all aspects of dairy cattle including milking and feeding the baby calves; but her favorite chore was baling hay. She enjoyed the deer and turkeys she encountered while in the field with her dogs Denver and Skippy right beside her in the tractor cab.
Although raising her children and farming kept her very busy, she also enjoyed reading and watching The Price is Right.
JoAnn is survived by her children; Judy (Chad) Vogel, Ron Gregory, Jeff Gregory and grandchildren; Gregory and Lindsey Vogel; siblings; Larry (Barb) Breeggemann, Darlene (Jon) Chrest, Kathy (Melvin) Gregory, Gladys (Butch) James, Charlie (Mary) Breeggemann, Ed Breeggemann, Steve (Lynn) Breeggemann.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Gregory and parents, Joseph and Rita Breeggemann.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 13 at 11 a.m. at Wagner Funeral Home of Jordan with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, a light luncheon will follow the service at the funeral home. A private family burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Jordan later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Arthritis Foundation.
