He was born in Michigan City, IN, on May 8, 1984.
Jason received his B.S. in Geology from Florida Atlantic University. He was a Supervisor for Earth Tech Drilling. He loved the ocean, diving, traveling, hiking in the mountains, running, and playing rugby.
Jason was an active Army National Guardsman. He had a love for the military and was always there for all his good friends and brothers in the service.
Jason is survived by his father, Bill (Kim) Oliver of Mill Creek, IN, and mother, Kathy (Jay) Davis of Michigan City; brothers, Barry (Charity) Oliver of Rolling Prairie, IN, Clinton Worthington of Mill Creek and John (Jennifer) Davis of Michigan City; sisters, Ashley Oliver of Denver, CO; Kim (Mark) Latchford of LaPorte, IN, and Heather (Ernie) Sasser of Portage, IN; niece and nephew, Ainsley and Briggs Oliver; cousins, Tyler Itzoe, Amanda Retseck, Jamie Kemmerer, Jasmin Paige McCord, Jessica Yeakey, and several other loving cousins; aunts and uncles, Randy Oliver, Tim Oliver, Emma Loy, Stacy Cooper, and Master Sergeant George Oliver; uncle and godfather, John Yeakey and David Bailey; honorary aunt, Leanne Voss; grandparents, Ruth Oliver, Dolores and Ron Bailey, and Karen and Don Yeakey; girlfriend, Nastasha Mercer of Pompano Beach, FL; and Nastasha’s parents, Tim and Rosemarie Mercer.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Billie Oliver; cousin, Megan Tatarski; and his aunt and godmother, Ann Marie Itzoe.
A Celebration of Life Service with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. (CST) Saturday, July 1, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, with Pastor Roger Ash officiating. Visitation will be Friday, June 30, from 4 to 8 p.m. (CST), and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service. Cremation will follow the service and an oceanside memorial service will take place at a later time in Florida.
