Milton was born in Cold Springs, Kentucky on January 30, 1932 to Mary and Alva Cooper. He was raised by his mother Mary and beloved step-father Jerry Gordon. He married Mary Teatsorth on April 11, 1968 and she survives in Findlay. Also surviving are his two sons Gordon of Toledo and Daniel of Findlay. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, brother, Alva and sister, Bonnie.
Milton graduated from Findlay High School and received his BS in Education from the University of Findlay. He then received his Masters from Bowling Green State University. Milton proudly served his country in the United States Army in Okinawa. He taught American History, social studies, physical education and also coached wrestling at Van Buren High School. Milton was a dedicated teacher and lifelong learner. He was a scholar of the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln and World War II. He was a poet and lover of nature. Milton enjoyed hiking, camping and especially biking. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
There will be a private memorial service in the spring.
