Bertha Lois Shults Ward born August 11, 1933 passed away February 1, 2019

Preceded in death by husband, John H Ward; son, Michael S Ward; siblings, Clellan Shults, Carl Shults, Loyd Shults, Boyd Shults, Thelma Groom, Betty Marshall, Iva Lee Clayton.

Survived by daughter, Joni B (Scott Bingham) Ward; granddaughter, Andrea Bingham; longtime family and friend and companion Robert Maples;brother, William C "WC' Shults; adopted granddaughter, Emily Potter(John) HIggins; stepgranddaughters, Shanna Johnson, Krista Johnson Fuzzell; cousin, Becky Franklin and a host of family and friends.

Bertha started her working career at Southern Bell Telephone & Telegraph Company, and continued her working carrer working most of her years in the Psychology Department of the Metro Nashville Public School system as a secretary until her retirement in the late 1990's.

Bertha loved God and Jesus, her family and friends close to home and across the country, Bertha was a member of Hermitage Hills Baptist Church.

Bertha loved to quilt, grow plants and pass them along to family and friends, she had a green thumb and could root anything. She collected Longaberger baskets loved to travel and meet new people. She was passionate about her granddaughters and the youngsters in her life. Bertha loved cooking and perfected her special secret recipe for pecan pie, and if you received one of these special pies it was a amazing treat. She would be the life of the party and could also make you feel at home at any time. Bertha was kind, tender hearted and passed on wise knowledge in her relationships. She will truly be missed by all.
