Besides his wife, he is survived by two sister, Mrs. John A. Spiers of Newport News and Mrs. Donald B. Davis of Norfolk; two brothers, Grover C. Murphy of St. Petersburg, Fla. and J. C. Murphy of Birmingham, Ala. and nieces and nephews.
Mr. Murphy was a native of Montgomery, Ala., and had been a resident of Norfolk for 35 years, residing at 505 Lamar Ave. He was a veteran of World War I, and member of the Izaak Walton League, and Electrical Workers Union 734.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Rosewood Memorial Park.
