Evelyn was the librarian at Gary High School, Gary, WV from 1940 to 1942 and 1952 to 1958. She married Frank “Buck” Robertson on August 17, 1941 at Park Methodist Church in Lexington, KY. In 1958 the family moved from WV to Lexington, KY and Evelyn was appointed Librarian at the then new Bryan Station High School, a position she held until retirement in 1983. She was a member of Capt. John McKinley Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, life member of Henry Clay Chapter Order of Eastern Star, charter member and life member of Oleika Temple Daughters of the Nile, former member Macedonia Shrine, and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem in WV. She was also a member of the Honorable Order of the KY Colonels, KY Historical Society, UK Alumni Assoc., and Bluegrass Retired Teachers Assoc. Evelyn was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and the Fidelis Sunday school class. Survived by two sons, Ken (Dudley) Robertson and Jim Robertson both of Lexington; six grandchildren, Gary (Theresa) Robertson, Long Island, NY, Jenny (Steve) Carruth, Atlanta, GA, Jeff (Stephanie) Robertson, Roswell, GA, Leigh (Eric) Lichaa, Colorado Springs, CO, Matt Robertson, and Jamie Robertson, Lexington; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Logan, Brayden, Will, Katie, Drew Robertson, and Ben Lichaa, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Nuckols, of Midway, KY and daughter-in-law, Robin Robertson of Lexington, KY. Burial will be in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, Jessamine County, Kentucky
