Clarence "Rowdy" Stewart, 75, of Tremont, passed away at 10:00 am Sunday February 3, 2019, at his home. He was born October 5, 1943 in Rensselaer, IN to Corbie and Margaret Carson Stewart.

Surviving are two brothers, Leonard Stewart of East Peoria and Tom Stewart of Tremont; two sisters, Mary (Michael) Searson of Grand Junction CO and Patty (Rick) Battles of Colchester, IL; many nieces and nephews, and best friend, Alan (Sherry) Bliss and his daughters, Jennifer and Heather and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William Stewart; one sister, Dorothy Clark; one sister-in-law, JoAnne Stewart; and Palmer and Mildred Bliss.

Clarence worked for the Bliss family for 53 years.

He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado during the Vietnam War.

He was a 50 year member of the Tremont American Legion Post #1236.

Clarence enjoyed NASCAR and was a Dale Earnhardt fan. He loved John Deere tractors and working on the Bliss farm. He also enjoyed fishing in Minnesota with the Bliss family.

Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be at 1:00 pm Saturday February 9, 2019 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont. Pastor Leah Kabira of Community United Church of Christ in Morton will officiate. A visitation will be from 10:30 am to 12:45 pm Saturday before the service at the funeral home. Those that attend are encouraged to wear casual attire. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
