Fleming- Christopher "Chris" Gerald Bowen, 66, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 at his home.
Chris was born October 3, 1952 in Brunswick, Georgia to Harvey Wescott Bowen and LuJuana Shockley Bowen Blount. He lived most of his life in Fleming and was a member of the Mt. Olivet Methodist Church. Chris loved the outdoors, spending many hours working in his garden and caring for his chickens. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tommy Bowen, and step-father, Elton Blount.
Survivors are daughters, Christie Davis of Richmond Hill and Brittany Moore (Chris) of Wilmington Island; son, Casey Bowen of Wilmington Island; sister, Shirley Murray of Bloomingdale; brothers, Randy Bowen (Faye) of Eatonton and Pat Bowen (Amy) of Fleming; 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is one hour prior to service at the church. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church with Rev. John Ryon officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers are Patrick Bowen, David Rogers, Timmy Blount, Joey Ray, Harvey Lashley and Billy Kirk.
