Renee E. Mayer Sokniewicz Kelly, age 88, a 23 year resident of Sleepy Hollow and former many year resident of Elk Grove Village passed away on Friday evening, February 1, 2019 at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Renee was born on July 10, 1930 in Germany and was the daughter of the late Bert & Nadja Mayer. Survivors include her children; Gina (William) Kelly and Mark (Sandy) Sokniewicz, her step-children; Karen Kelly and Barbara ( John) Breitsameter, her grandchildren; Sean and Jackie Kelly, Matt, Steven and Scott Sokniewicz, Terry Breitsameter, Jay( Amanda) Breitsameter and Ellen(Chris) Swiderski and her 4 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Renee was preceded in death by her husbands; Eugene Sokniewicz in 1968 and Robert H. Kelly in 2005. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to JourneyCare Hospice, Barrington.
