Corporal Horn served with the 502nd Bomb
Group, 411th Bomb Squadron from Grand
Island Army Airfield.

He was fatally injured in the crash
landing of B-29A Superfortress #42-93842,
one mile south of Ogden, Kansas (near
Fort Riley), when the pilot attempted to
set down the bomber due to engine fires.

Also killed in the crash were:

Capt. George P. Erwin, pilot
2nd Lt. Edwin E. Courter
2nd Lt. Donald C. Tarr
S/Sgt. Francis J. Merdan
S/Sgt. Anthony P. Tomaini
