Obituary for Avis Anderson
Avis Anderson, age 95 of Minneapolis formerly of Ft. Myers, FL, Madison, WI, and Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2019. Avis will be remembered for her avid love of nature, and bird watching, the nature hikes she led for children, and for happily explaining "I'm not used to winter as I didn't grow up with it." She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Arvid Anderson who was the love of her life, her parents, Frank and Sadie Stella Larratt; brothers, Stuart and Bruce Larratt, and sisters-in-law, Sue and Janet Larratt, and Eleanor Anderson. Avis will be missed by her children, Susan (Jeff) Dean, Steven (Suzanne) Anderson, Kristin (Bob Reilly) Anderson, Linda (Michael) Hoard; grandchildren, Brian (Rachel), Ellen, Michelle (Jim), Dan, Scott, Evelyn (Mohamed), Sylvia, Paul, Emily, and Carolyn; great-grandson, Eli, brother-in-law, Norman (Peggy) Anderson, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Memorials preferred to "Ding" Darling Wildlife Society, or donor's choice. The family would like to thank everyone at Avis's Jones Harrison home for their loving care during her 7 1/2 years living there. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
