Lydia Carolyn Kirk Jones, age 72, passed away Saturday morning at Life Care Center of Morristown.

Carolyn was a faithful member of Brown Springs Baptist Church, where she was a member of the 1st Worship Service Choir and the Pearl Tunnell Sunday School Class as long as her health permitted.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Obe and Ninnie Kirk.

Survivors include her daughter: Chastity (Ron) Jones of Bulls Gap; grandson: Chris; two brothers: J.C. Kirk of Belvidere, IL, and Wayne Kirk of Edison, TN; three sisters: Wanda Ayers and Sharon Marshall both of Mohawk, and Joyce (Dannie) Bell of Whitesburg; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and host of friends.

A special thanks to her roommate and guardian angel, Ms. Delores Cody, for all that she did for Carolyn and also to the staff and doctors of Life Care Center of Morristown.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel with the Rev. Richard Long and the Rev. Dannie Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Bibles Chapel Cemetery.
