Hugh graduated from U.I.C. and worked as an Electrical engineer. He owned and operated MeerKat Systems, Inc., designing motherboards primarily for universities. Hugh, the youngest of four, was born in the suburbs of Amsterdam, Netherlands. He attended schools in Yokohama, Japan from 8 to 11 years of age. Hugh lived in Anchorage, Alaska before relocating to Illinois as a teenager. He graduated from Cary High school. At age 11, Hugh built his first Go-Kart, his first set of stand-up electroacoustic transducers for his electric guitar at age 16, and continued to demonstrate a sharp interest in developing his own ideas that ranged from building computers, devices, and programming for linux systems and developing apps. Throughout the years Hugh lived and practiced good health and humor. He made time for the outdoors, camping and sports that included ice-hockey, wind and sail surfing, canoeing and mountain biking across parts of the U.S., raising money for the hungry, medical research and other good causes. Hugh had a love for music, documentaries and nature. He was a man of few words with a sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and never displayed arrogance or said an unkind word about anyone. He was a compassionate and caring individual helping others overcome their struggles through humor. His nephews describe Hugh as one of the best role models they had and loved, often turning to him for advice and guidance about computers, hard-drives and programming. His loss was a shock to all of us and unexpected. Hugh was predeceased by his parents, Leicester and Drusilla Williams. He is survived by siblings John (Lillian),Tennessee, An Goldbauer (Deanna D’Abreau Iovino), Florida, and Glynis Williams (Art Alva), Illinois; his nephews Aaron Williams, IL, Ian Williams, David (Jennifer) Gould, great niece Amberlin, great nephew, David, VA and Zachariah Bauer (Vanessa Adame), CA.
