Harold Wayne (Pete) Barnett of Arlington, Texas was born on April 28, 1936 to Ola (Pruitt) and Walter Lee Barnett, Sr. in Ellis County Texas. He was raised in Midlothian, Texas and graduated from Midlothian High School in 1954.

Pete graduated with a teaching degree from North Texas State College in 1958. He began his teaching career in Dallas ISD, where he taught elementary physical education. He later completed his Master of Public School Administration from North Texas in 1965. Pete went into pharmaceutical sales rising through the ranks until his retirement from Owen-Galderma as Vice President of Marketing.

He married the former Rosine Bearden of Midlothian on December 19, 1959 and they had three children: Burley, Geana (Rodd) Brann and Janie (Mike) Warren.

Pete was devoted to his family. Later in life, he and Rosine took many trips around the world. He was lovingly referred to as "Gran" by his six grandchildren, their friends and extended families.

Pete was also a loyal and active member of the United Methodist Church holding many local and conference church offices over the years. Pete and Rosine recently transferred their membership to First United Methodist Church of Midlothian.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws (Gene and Maxine Page), a brother (Walter Lee Barnett, Jr.), a son-in-law (Rodd Brann), brother_in_law (Burley Bearden) and sister-in-law (Jewellene Barnett). He is survived by his wife, Rosine Bearden Barnett, children Burley Barnett of Midlothian, Texas, Geana Brann of Arlington, Texas, and Janie (Mike) Warren of Bixby, OK. He is also survived by his six grandchildren Joshua (Suzanne) Brann of Hurst, Texas, Mia Barnett of Los Angeles, CA,Ally Brann of Arlington, Texas, Nicholas Warren of Houston, Texas, Reid Barnett of Fargo, ND, and Mackenzie Warren of Fort Worth, Texas. He is also survived by his sister Particia (Jim) Shipley of Ovilla, Texas.

Service: First United Methodist Church of Midlothian, Texas, Friday February 1 at 1 PM with visitation afterwards.

Internment at Midlothian Cemetery at a later date.
