Celebration of Life will be conducted Sunday February 3, 2019 from 10:00AM until 4:00PM at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home.
Mr. Walters was born February 6, 1941 to the late Lewis Granville Walters and Lula Francis Troxell in Virginia, Illinois. He was a retired truck driver and the Chief of the Cherokee Wolf Clan in Yuma, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by one son Joe Walker Jr.; daughter Terri Luann Ward; brothers Kenneth Walters and Denis Walters; sisters Kathern Walters and Janie Swift.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Walters; three daughters Tina DeLeon of Yuma, Tennessee, Tawna Lee Walters of Evansville, Indiana and Alma Messina of Yuma, Tennessee; two sons Scott (Darla) Coffman of Peoria, Illinois and Jerry (Shari) Walters of Centerpointe, Iowa; one sister Doris Smithee of Minier, Illinois; two half sisters Charlotte Lockard of Illinois and Diane Frisby of Wisconsin; half brother Jimmy Lee Smith of Illinois; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
